Membership in the Queer Film Society (QFS) is by invitation of the Selection Committee and/or at the recommendation of the Board of Directors. Membership is comprised of LGBT film critics, historians, artists and scholars.
Friends of the Queer Film Society are comprised of film enthusiasts of every stripe with a particular passion for movies, particularly those with a queer bent. All currently registered Friends of the QFS are automatically enrolled in the QFS Advance Screening Program which offers a select amount of complimentary passes to film previews before the films are released to the general public. These movies often include prominent LGBT themes and are deemed of special interest or are co-sponsored by the QFS. We notify currently enrolled Friends of the QFS about upcoming screenings via our email list and our website. Passes are awarded on a “first come/first serve” basis to the selected number of respondents and distributed prior to each screening at the designated theatre.
Friends of the QFS are also the first to receive notice of other QFS special event screenings, film series and festival screenings, seminars, and social events like our “Dinner & a Movie” series and are given first choice on reservations and discounts where applicable. Though pricing for QFS events varies, at this time it costs nothing to become a Friend of the QFS. Enrollment is done by completing the form below.
